Traveling to the Conference
The closest airport to Baltimore is Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. (BWI) The area's other two major airports are Reagan National Airport (DCA) and Dulles International Airport (IAD) Please keep in mind that Dulles is two hours from Baltimore and poorly connected by public transportation. BWI is served by Baltimore's light rail, Amtrak, and the MARC commuter train. DCA is served by the Washington, D.C. Metro, which will connect to the MARC commuter train to Baltimore. Dulles is served by the 5A bus to the Washington, D.C. Metro, which will connect to the MARC commuter train to Baltimore.

Baltimore's Pennsylvania Station is served by several Amtrak lines as well as MARC commuter trains from the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. metro area. Pennsylvania Station is a five minute drive from the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus and a 35 minute walk. To get between the station and campus you can use the taxi stand directly outside the station. You can also take a free Johns Hopkins Homewood-JHMI Shuttle from the Charles Street side of the station to the 34th Street stop at the main entrance to campus. Several public buses also link Penn Station to campus along Charles Street. These are the 3, 11, and 61.
|
Baltimore is served by Greyhound, Bolt Bus, and Megabus. Please note: only Bolt Bus is conveniently located and easily accessible to campus. Megabus stops outside of Baltimore in a suburb and requires a long ride on an infrequent and unreliable local bus. Greyhound requires a local bus ride or potentially confusing combination of local bus and light rail. Additional bus companies operate between various locations and the Baltimore Travel Plaza.

Several interstate highways pass through or near Baltimore, include I-95 and I-70. Please visit the Johns Hopkins University's website for driving directions. Please note that contrary to what the website says, Charles Street near campus is open.
